It's A Good Idea To Put Your Original Keys Away For Safekeeping
It’s a good idea to put your original keys away for safekeeping. Why is this so? Your original keys are going to be the best keys that you have, as long as you care for them. Duplicates are great, and pretty much always necessary, but your original key is most likely going to have the best accurate cut.
As described in an earlier post, it’s a good idea to make copies of your keys off the most original keys. It’s smart to make copies off the original, put the original aside in a safe place, and start using your duplicate(s). Then, if you need more copies, duplicate them off the original, for the most accurate cut possible. Are you using your original keys, or have you placed them aside for safekeeping?
